Yay! Thesis show, graduation and touristing around San Francisco : ) Thank you to everyone that came up and everyone who has put up with all my craziness these last four years. Now onto real life and more work... but first some sleeping in and a couple weeks off... more photos of these adventures to come.

Recently went on a bike tour around San Francisco with Chris Carlsson and one of my classes and explored many historical areas around the mission. I was unaware of how many industrially produced foods have their roots in San Francisco! One great anecdote Chris talked about was that before cars were around and before Golden Gate park was anything more than sand dunes, there would be loads and loads of hay being brought into the city for the horses that did all the carrying. The loads and loads of horse manure that would be created from this were used to transform the sand dunes into the glorious green haven we have today!

A couple weekends ago Evan and I went on an epic bike ride given the nice weather and ended up at the ferry building. We had been meaning to try to grow some mushrooms and after looking at the enticing and beautiful way they grow, we bought a block to grow some oyster mushrooms on. After a week, ONE WEEK!, we had these giant things growing away. It was so amazing and delicious!

Just dug up the dirt in the pathways to create more space for our seedlings (which are growing fast as you can see in those first pictures). It's been really exciting and we have gotten so much broccoli and kale and lettuce! The lettuce grows a new leaf each night it seems. We have way too many squash plants which isn't a problem for me haha but space wise I don't know if we can accommodate, anyone in need of some some squash seedlings? Let me know!
