I went up to Portland for a bit to visit Evan and although I mostly took photos on film which I have yet to develop here are a couple from the road trip up to Bainbridge Island where we camped and then took a ferry to Seattle. It was so green everywhere up there and the weather was warm and sunny the whole trip. I will post more photos from camping when I get them developed!
Here's are some photos of the process and the finished prototype for Dennis's bag. Dennis is a chef at a local restaurant, Namu, he needed a bag to bike with all of the produce from the farmer's markets to work. The dividers are removable but while in place allow delicate produce to sit protected and separated from the harder goods. It was an awesome experience figuring out how to sew it all and constructing it. I'm really excited to continue sewing and making bags!!
The rest of the week went by pretty quickly, we went for a small hike and saw the entire SLC area and a quail! Ate some yummy asian food and met lots of awesome people. It was a great show and I'm really happy I got to go. Lots of free goodies, beer, and socializing.
The first day of the show was really fun especially because we were all decked out in boy scout gear! We got a lot of attention as we walked around the show looking for sweet giveaways. We stopped at a booth that was announcing a raffle for a trip to Ecuador! Melissa and I submitted our names and were waiting at the front of the crowd for the raffle (while also getting free t shirts) when the announcer suspensefully ( <-oops not a word ) called my name!! We were so excited as was the photographer who was at the front capturing everything! haha. It was a good way to start the show and now I have 9 day trip to Ecuador for 2 on my list of things to do : )!! Anyway check out the pictures of the booth in action and the acorn toss game. It was a fun way to keep us entertained.
