craft night

Sometime last week I had some friends over for a craft night! Adina, a friend from Hungary, is a jewelry major and has been making these awesome bracelets with simple knotting techniques and taught us all her ways. It was a good night and I even made brownies from scratch for the first time!

mini toast

cream cheese
So I had a huge craving for cream cheese yesterday, strange maybe but I found these little mini toasts that go amazing with a little bit of cream cheese. I'm actually eating them again right now! haha
And it's raining again... good thing it's siesta time, nothing is open so I don't feel like I am wasting time avoiding the outside. It's weird because I have started to get used to these siesta schedules, at first I thought it was crazy that a city would close for 2 hours in the middle of the day, but it's actually really nice to have a break in the day to go home, eat and rest. It shows a lot about how family oriented the culture is and how much calmer they live their lives.
Anyway I'm off to go work on my candle mold!
Enjoy the day!

exploring part 2

We started out Saturday with a nice cappuccino and walked until we found the arc de triomf. We stumbled upon a park and then a fountain with shiny gold horses on top and then a wooly mammoth and then a lake with small boats and a boy chasing an escaped peacock and a tree stump with mittens on it and an abandoned building that used to contain a botanical garden of tropical plants and in the end rested our feet

Exploring

It has been a busy week I don't even know what happened to the time. Good thing I took pictures!
cozy
yummy yummy tea
I met up with Caitlin, a friend from San Diego, for tea, she showed the cutest and probably the coziest spot to drink tea in the city. The menu of teas was unbelievable, it was hard picking one but I finally picked a good old chai tea and enjoyed spending some quality time talking and learning more about Barcelona!

Later in the week Dayna another friend from high school came to visit!
There was a lot going on but here's a brief overview:
letras
stumbled upon a vintage antique market
doner durum
ate delicious doner durums, kind of like a burrito but way different
magic
went to a magic shop
velas

Found the Barcelona Cathedral which happened to have birds living in a courtyard?
and then there were birds

The next day we got up early and met up with Caitlin to go to the big market, La Boqueria and get some fresh food to make lunch!
admiring our food
cooking at my place
After filling our bellies with a delicious lentil soup and green beans we headed to La Sagrada Familia
first attempt
We asked someone to take our picture and right after she took it her friend said she could take a better one! haha
It was a good day and there's more of the weekend to be continued...
